Thanks to our friends over at Mountain Gold Games, we were introduced to this lovely game known as Dice Bazaar. Game designer Fedor Sosnin takes gorgeous art and turns it into an interesting form of gameplay. Dice Bazaar puts 2 to 4 players in a competition to purchase the most valuable goods at a bazaar.
The foreign themes have been done before, but this one catches my eye! Similar to the cute art of Sushi Go!, you’ll find that this is colorful, vibrant and perfect for a family-friendly endeavor. We were impressed by the dice management and luck factor involved with the marketplace purchase. Managing your “inventory”, the game works with trading and appraisal of earned goods.
Our concern is the longevity and overall simplicity of the game. We anticipate that this will be great as a quick, family-friendly game that plays up on the Yahtzee-styled features, but what will the future hold? Is there even room for expansions that add value and more worth towards the price tag? We want to ensure a beautifully designed game like this will see plenty of use for the table. Adding the trading and card management aspect spices things up, but veteran gamers might find it too easy.
For us, dice games are hot and cold but this one is catching our attention like fire. The risk involved in each turn is well worth basing the game around, the added trading system defines the Dice Bazaar as a new addition to the dice rolling genre of board games. Bring your family, bring your friends and head over to Dice Bazaar!
WHY SHOULD I BACK THIS ON KICKSTARTER?
Dice Bazaar is a great game for friends and family who are new to board games.
Beautiful art help sets the mood and really makes the game stand out.
Luck be a lady tonight – dice rolling elements with card trading keeps things fairly interesting.
