Mysterium was my game of the year for 2015. I figure it was a great justice to have this be the first review of the website. Not only was this an anticipated release and one of the games I wanted for my collection before I even started my collection, it was one that helped me become involved in the hobby.
The gameplay, while not innovative, presents itself with a vast amount of replayability. It’s certainly not a pure party game or a game that requires immense strategy, but it is one that helps spark your imagination. Focusing on your perception and interpretation skills, Mysterium is a game great for a cooperative group of players.
Overall, I say your experiences will depend on your group. Do they do well with cooperative? Are they imaginative and able to see details? Do you have a strong sense of communication with your team? Not all of these are necessary, but answering “yes” to most of these questions help weed out if Mysterium is right for you.
